Implants are the latest technique available to dentists for replacement of missing teeth. Implants can be used to replace one, many or all of the teeth in an arch.
Implants are titanium anchors that are placed directly into the jaw bone and allowed to heal. The healing generally takes 4-6 months.
Once healed, crowns bridges or even full dentures can be fabricated that are in turn supported by the implants. These replacements are permanently cemented, so they are indistinguishable from those that are supported by teeth.
